2019-08-13

iPhone and iPad users that have upgraded to iOS 12.4 must update to version 3.3.7 or later of the GroupTalk for iPhone app.

The iOS 12.4 update from Apple includes a limitation/bug that requires the GroupTalk app to be updated in order for the GroupTalk service to function in the “background” (not visible on the screen) as well as with bluetooth Remote Speaker Microphones or Bluetooth PTT buttons.

GroupTalk Dispatch with Mute Groups
2019-02-28

Mute Groups can be used to prevent audio feedback loops of from nearby users. This solves the problem when multiple Dispatchers are located in the same room and use external speakers or Desktop microphones with built in speakers and the voice of the operators can be heard both “over the shoulder” and through the GroupTalk PC Dispatcher.

To make use of this feature, first create the Mute Group as needed and then assign them to user categories. Users belonging to that user category will then have the option to select a mute group among from those available. Users with the same mute group will then not hear each others voice transmission. This feature is currently available for dispatchers only.
